I like Flatpaks, really, but then…
I had a bunch of Qt apps where the dark theme wasn't working. The solution was to install `org.gtk.Gtk3theme.Breeze-Dark`, which is the default dark theme, but as Flatpak.
Please, allow me to question this:
Why did I have to do this? I shouldn't have to do this. I shouldn't have to even worry about this. Why did I need to install the dark theme a second time? Why isn't that handled automatically?

As we move into the darkest part of the year in the northern hemisphere, the #TuneTuesday theme this week is #BlackMagick: songs with references to the occult, dark powers, that old black magic. This tune, which describes an intolerable world while imagining a revolutionary response, fits the bill in my book …

Just shared my WezTerm¹ configuration. It’s not very long and mostly just adds a few keyboard shortcuts that I find more ergonomically-pleasing, specifies light/dark themes and improves colour scheme consistency and also, if you use Helix Editor², automatically implements light/dark mode theme changes for it in line with the rest of the terminal.

I guess it's a good first step toot.cafe/@tomayac/11530941183
But I've also been waiting for *years* (`prefers-color-scheme` was introduced in 2019), for:
- light/dark-mode `theme_color`
- light/dark-mode `background_color`
- light-dark-mode `ic…

Thinking about dark/light mode pickers that have three options: Auto/Dark/Light.
If the default is “Auto” — in what scenario might someone want to move away from Auto (which would visually be a noop to the same theme?)
I’m using Light mode as my system preference, but it seems unlikely that I would swap from Auto (Light mode) to Light mode (not Auto) on a specific site

so apparently in Firefox your theme choice affects whether dark mode on the OS actually influences dark mode on websites.
The right theme is "System theme - auto”.

Once again I wonder "Do the authors/maintainers of LibreOffice actually use it?"
For example, I am here on MacOs (Tahoe) and the buttons in LibreWriter to control Bold, Italic, etc are effectively same-color-on-same-color-background, in other words, unreadable. The only time they are actually visible is when the "Dark" theme is used.
Almost every time I use LibreOffice I am reminded why people pay actual $$ for products like Word/Office365.

Series D, Episode 01 - Rescue
TARRANT: [Enters] You all right?
DORIAN: How many more of you are there?
AVON: [Enters, weapon levelled at Dorian] Just one. Stand still. Drop the gun. Now move away from it. Slowly.

Claude 3.7 describes the image as: "This image appears to be from a science fiction television series, captured in a winter setting with snow on the ground. Four people are standing in conversation, wearing distinctive futuristic costumes that suggest a space or sci-fi theme. The costumes include dark leather-like materials and unique styling typical of 1970s/80s television productions. The scene takes place in a sparse outdoor location with bare trees and shrubs in the background, creating a s…
