So I’ve had floaters in my eyes👀—mostly the right one—for years. Not really a problem—something distracting to watch while in the dentist chair, for instance. But all of a sudden recently they’ve become more noticeable, like a gray fog, but still just the right eye at least. Eye doc says he can do a #vitrectomy if it gets beyond the annoyance stage. (Look it up, if you dare.)

Lots happening...
In the last month
- a ratty visitor in the cellar
- apparently-solved by blocking a hole through the wall to next door
- hence ongoing interactions with neighbours & neighbours' landlord
- fridge broke
- small crack in fibreglass bath, probably fixable
- ambivalence re dentist appointment where I don't trust their covid safety (eventually postponed)
And then last week Caitlin said let's run a SysMod course, & I had to scramble to do the setup. That one I'm happy about though!

Nothing makes you feel older than having a really old dental crown fall out, and finding a museum of obsolete dental tech underneath it.
My dentist and I discovered that the crown is a porcelain-on-metal type, a technology still used a little today, but is basically considered obsolete. He also discovered that I had mercury-amalgam fillings underneath it, something that has been phased out since the 1970s.

Hey all, I generally use a disposable FFP3 facemask (from The Face Mask Store), but I'd really like to get hold of a Flo Mask or PrescientX Breathe mask, in addition to the Readimask (for the Readimask hack when visiting a dentist!) - however, it seems almost impossible to get hold of any of these in the British isles! I was wondering if anyone in the UK knew of any source for these, or equivalent masks to these, in this country? Thanks!

With the estate stuff going on, I've learned a lot of lessons.
A really big one is that, while I've told folk for some time to get a Financial Advisor (for the same reasons you get a mechanic, architect or dentist), the quality of each advisor, though, can be dramatically different.
I seem to have lucked out and wound up with a fantastic advisor. He's been more than happy to step up and help answer questions and smooth things out.

Another covid erasure rant
Also from conversations at the dentist: staff don't test themselves regularly any more, but they do if they have respiratory symptoms!
There's a giant list of possible covid symptoms besides those! Like headache for example! Are we in a timewarp back to spring 2020?
It's really up in my face right now how weird the world is nowadays. No longer medical professionals' jobs to know even the basic facts necessary for infection control.
