L’officier de 30 ans, ancien activiste de la révolution de Maïdan, en 2014, commande le 108ᵉ bataillon d’assaut de la 59ᵉ brigade. Il a succédé à la tête de cette unité à Dmytro Kotsioubaïlo, dit « Da Vinci », premier engagé volontaire à avoir reçu le titre de « héros de l’Ukraine ».
