Crude AM detector demodulates 1kHz signal (blue) from 1MHz carrier (yellow). The output is not great quality, but the circuit is so basic I'm surprised it works. One diode, one resistor, and two capacitors. Similar to the early crystal radio sets, where the crystal served as a the diode.

An oscilloscope showing AM demodulation next to a signal generator (producing the signal) and a digital multi meter (not used for this). In the foreground is a breadboard circuit with probes and leads connected.

Was reminded of this band and album today, I was OBSESSED with this as a kid, it came out when I was 15. And it still holds up. Who remembers song/video 'Weird Out' by Philadelphia's DANDELION, from their 1995 record Dyslexicon? Whole album is a banger.
'Weird Out' - the song I first spotted on MTV's 120 Minutes all those years ago:

Screenshot of my model in blender. It's untextured and gray. It's wearing a t-shirt and short pants. It also has a belt with a star in the center, bracelets with a smaller star in them, and a scarf that's floating up as if wind was pushing it.

you've heard of chemists in the 30's
are you prepared for chemists in the 1830's?
moreover, bunsen himself?

History
Robert Wilhelm Bunsen coined the name kakodyl (later modified to cacodyl in English) for the dimethylarsinyl radical, (CH3)2As, from the Greek κακώδης kakōdēs ("evil-smelling") and ὕλη hylē ("matter").

It was investigated by Edward Frankland and (for over six years) by Robert Bunsen and is considered the earliest organometallic compound discovered (even though arsenic is not a true metal). Bunsen began studying it in the 1830s and had determined its chemical composition by 1843; during…
