Dürre: Wasservorräte in England werden knapp
Nach dem trockensten ersten Halbjahr seit 1976 hat Großbritannien die derzeit herrschende Wasserknappheit in England als „von nationaler Bedeutung“ eingestuft. Die britische Umweltbehörde (EA) erklärte am Dienstag, fünf von 14 ihrer Einsatzregionen in England litten unter Dürre, und sechs weitere seien von anhaltender Trockenheit betroffen. Die Wasservorräte seien erschöpft, und die Lage beeinträchtige die Ernte, hieß es.
