If you want people on Mastodon etc to follow your PeerTube, it's important that you encourage them to follow your PeerTube account instead of your PeerTube channel. When people from Mastodon etc follow PeerTube accounts, videos will start to federate to their server and show up in their timelines on Mastodon etc. However, if they follow a PeerTube channel instead of a PeerTube account, the videos may not federate to their Mastodon etc server at all. #FediTips #PeerTube

In case you missed it, you can search PeerTube at: ➡️ https://sepiasearch.org Sepia Search uses a blocklist (where everything is allowed unless it's actively blocked) so it has the widest range of results but may contain nasty stuff that hasn't been blocked yet. You can also search PeerTube at: ➡️ https://fedi.video Fedi.Video uses an allowlist (where everything is blocked unless it's actively allowed) so it has a narrower range of results but is much much safer. #PeerTube

Mastodon servers running the experimental ("nightly") version of Mastodon may have quote-tooting now active. If it is active, it should work by clicking a post's boost 🔁 button, which offers the option to quote if the account has opted into quoting. Don't worry if it's not yet active for you, this is just on experimental Mastodon as the feature is still being tested. Quoting will be released in the next server software version (v4.5.0). Okay, some really bad news but also a suggestion for a way forward. The Guppe groups domain name was sold by their registrar before they could renew it. #PSA #feditips It seems that Nepal has blocked access to (some?) Mastodon sites.
With domain fronting the blocking of many fediverse sites can be circumvented.
This is based on the fact that many websites share the same IP number. Therefore a government blocking access to a website can in many cases only block the domain, but not the IP of the site, otnerwise many other websites would be blocked too.

I have decided to block mastodon.cloud and would recommend that you consider doing the same.
If you know anyone who currently uses this instance, it may be advisable to encourage them to migrate to another one.
