Judith Butler's "Gender is performative" is a similar line of thinking: performative gender is a social construct, in which each of us presents ourselves and we are perceived by others, and there's a rose-colored gendering lens on all these things based on the local cultural social understanding of current day "gender"
Which for non-queer folks typically boils down to "Does this behavior have masculine or feminine vibes?" And yes that's crude but it's the current day average (poor) understanding of "gender"
This is extremely oversimplifying a whole field of study on that, let alone our internal relationship with intent within performative gender
(And also our internal relationships with our own bodies and how they're gendered, etc)
