Det er en lei tendens at når politikere diskuterer utdanning tar de meget instrumentelle synspunkt, og stirrer seg blind på det som måtte være den «store utfordringen» vi har i dag. I slike diskusjoner brukes begrep som «arbeidslivsrelevans» og «samfunnsnytte» som tomme merkelapper, uten at de makter å definere hva det egentlig er.
Jeg gjŸr et forsŸk på å lŸfte diskusjonen til å handle om hva som egentlig er samfunnsnyttig, og slår et slag for kunsten som nŸdvendig for oss som menneske…

Going through boxes, drawers, etc. in my home office, in anticipation of redoing it (I need more bookshelves). In an old bankers box, I found my daily planners from high school, university, and all the way until I got my first Palm device in 1999…
In the planner for the 1986-87 academic year, I find an entry for Friday, September 26th, 1986: «(Freak Out!)» Unfortunately, past me did not feel a need to elaborate on that, and so I am left guessing…
