Open question for hams and GMRS folks...
I've got an Icom FR4000-3 GMRS repeater, a fairly high end quality bit of kit. Is it worth my time to get a GMRS license and set it up? There are no GMRS repeaters in my geographic area. I'm not sure I'd find any use myself for GMRS, but the license is cheap.
Or do I modify it to work in ham bands? This is more my area, but there are several UHF repeaters in the area, so there is no great need.
