I no longer remember which one but in one of his dystopian futures there’s been a solution to the problem of The Levant: a solid plate of Trinitite from the Euphrates to the Mediterranean. There are no working quantum computers capable of factoring a 3-digit number. Last I heard, the record was the number 21.
That means there is no “production” environment capable of testing the critical feature. Beyond that, PQC deployment in the wild is new/small enough that we don’t even have a lot of assurance that the implementations live up to theory.
