I'm planning to set up a music room for $SPOUSE. Neither of us are audiophiles.
Looking for recommendations for amps that support Airplay, and work well with #HomeAssistant.
Must haves:
- local control - I don't want something that will have issues if its mothership turns off servers, or even just because my internet is out.
- AirPlay support
- Works well with Home Assistant
- Supports unpowered speakers
- Doesn't require an app to configure it
Nice to have
- Streaming support
- IOS app for control
Also looking for disrecommendations for stuff that doesn't work well with HA.

My Friedrich window AC has an issue where it turns the compressor on maybe 2% of the time, else it just blows room temp. I found that once it’s on, if the power is cut (not thermostat or controls) it will stay on, so now I have Alexa use the Air Quality Monitor to kill power below 67°F so the thermostat doesn’t get the chance to shut off the compressor. Sure, I could do similar with Home Assistant, but this works!

bought a jabra to give ears and mouth to home assistant and after a remarkable amount of cursing I got it working.
It's amazing considering that this whole stack is basically a caesar salad of free software

Finally managed to hook my #GoogleNest in #HomeAssistant.
If you are in the same situation, remember to remove *all* Google credentials first. Home Assistant doesn't allow org accounts, only regular ones. I had Google Drive with my main account, which is in my own org.

Jetzt muss man jedes Gerät in Apple home nochmal „freigeben“, bekommt einen code den man am besten in die Handy App von Home Assistant copy-pasted und schon sind alle 5 Geräte auch im „zweiten Zuhause“.
Der Lecksensor hat einfach unten 2 Metallkontakte und wenn er im Wasser steht werden sie verbunden und er piept. Funktioniert.
Der CO2-Sensor ist klasse und auch als Schreibtischuhr geeignet. CO2 Level in meinem Büro ist auch bei längerem Mathe machen nicht erhöht. 🧐
