Jonathan Coulton's "Still Alive" (from Portal) is an Easter song, and the lyrics don't even require that much tweaking to work. Imagine Jesus singing it to all of humanity:
This was a triumph
I'm making a note here
"Huge success"
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction
My Father's Kingdom
We do what we must because we can
For the good of all of us
Except the ones who are dead
But there's no sense crying over every missed line
You just keep on trying till you run out of wine
And the tombstone grows moss and you make a neat cross
For the people who are still alive
I'm not even angry
I'm being so sincere right now
Even though you broke my heart
And killed me
And tore me to pieces
And threw every piece into a fire
As they burned it hurt because
I was so happy for you
Now, these points of data make a beautiful line
And we're out of beta, we're releasing on time
So I'm glad I got burned, think of all the things we learned
For the people who are still alive
Go 'head and leave me
I think I'd prefer to stay inside
Maybe you'll find someone else
To help you
Maybe Ron Hubbard?
That was a joke, ha-ha, fat chance
Anyway, this wine is great
It's so delicious and moist
Look at me, still talking when there's religion to do
When I look out there, it makes me glad I'm not you
I've experiments to run, there's salvation to be done
On the people who are still alive
And believe me, I am still alive
I'm doing preaching and I'm still alive
I feel fantastic and I'm still alive
While you're dying, I'll be still alive
And when you're dead, I will be still alive
Still alive
Still alive
Glad to celebrate the release of The Freaks Came Out To Write, Tricia Romano’s incredible oral history of the Village Voice. I’m a tiny footnote amongst so many huge voices. And very surreal to read back what I remember about waking up the morning of 9/11. https://www.

What was your very 1st 45/LP/cassette/CD?
When I was 5 or 6, I asked Santa for a record player. He brought me one from Sears (it had a lid & carrying handle like a little suitcase) & a single record: a 45 of Diana Ross/The Supremes’ Love Child. I laugh every time I think about it. My adoptive mother apparently felt that would be an awesome gift for her illegitimate adopted daughter. 😶😑🫤🤣 #Adoption
I went outside today and saw a rabbit so I told my wife I saw the Easter Bunny today and she asked if it was an actual rabbit in our back yard or if I saw a human person dressed as a rabbit.
It was an actual rabbit in our back yard but I *did* also see a human person dressed as a rabbit earlier in the day so I win this round.

When I first started calling Silicon Valley’s business model “people farming” I was told I was being hyperbolic and alarmist.
I don’t get told that much anymore.
