Silicon Image SiI7172CLU dual link TMDS transceiver for DVI 1.0, with HDCP support.
Looks to be TSMC 150 - 180 nm or thereabouts, with 5ish metal layers. Marked with the code name "LOGAN" but sadly no cool artwork like I've seen on other Silicon Image products.
Two different chunks of floorplanned digital logic at the west and south, then probably the TMDS PHY in the top center. Northeast corner looks like some kind of memory, maybe SRAM buffer or perhaps ROM for HD…

I'm looking for something that I absolutely *could* DIY but am pretty sure exists as a commercial product.
* Large format red/black/white (yellow optional) eink display, 7 inch or so
* Ethernet or wifi
* Local push based update (i.e. I can make a POST request or something directly to the device to dump an image onto it without needing to go through a cloud server or be on a VLAN with internet access. Timer-based pull update (device downloads an image at regular intervals)…
