in my headcanon (and by extension the @… universe) ipos was an electronics giant back in the day but sometime around the mid-late 90s they just became one of those brands that gets put on generic products to sell them at a significant markup, while still occasionally actually making a product themselves here and there. kinda like RCA in the real world
