Tsja. That Flatpak of KeepassXC requires a higher version of QT5 than Slackware offers atm. There's a slackbuild available, but I'm not gonna use sw by an unknown author to store my pwds. Crack in the mirror. Appimage then.

AFAIK the work on native messaging for flatpaks (and snaps) is done so that KeePassXC and KeePassXC Browser could finally talk to each other again. But I could not find out what's still missing. Does my OS need an update of the xdg portals? Do the browser vendors need to support the portal? Currently, it's Zen and Vivaldi which are sandboxed. Or is it the browser extension or KeePassXC itself?

The #KeepassXC discussion about GenAI coding tool use seems a bit too simplistic at the moment.
There is room for nuance:
1. Yes, LLM based code generators consume insane amounts of electricity and generate collateral environment damage. That's bad, and we should talk much more about energy efficiency and reasonable use of resources.
2. Yes, LLMs generate a lot of bad o…
Unclear to me why no one ever mentions Strongbox in #PasswordManager reviews. It is a perfectly fine PM for macOS/iOS/iPadOS that has a rich set of sync options, most of which don't involve any 2nd/3rd party storage. It stores its databases in KeePass2.x (kdbx v4) format, so it is data-compatible with the many variations of KeePass.
(I use it with SSH/SCP sync, so as long as I’m at…
So I don't want the MS app, Authy won't set up saying my phone isn't secure enough (lol I didn't want to set it up in the first place!), Google Authenticator won't work with the MS stuff, neither can I do TOTP setup with KeePassXC ... I don't want to have an availability problem, that is my main concern.
#FreeSoftwareAdvent KeePassXC is the best password manager I've used.
Can create strong passwords, store TOTP data, organize in folders all the keys, add comments...
