The Zeroing of Knowledge: When Everything Is Known, What Remains Worth Learning?
Knowledge used to be expensive. It cost years of apprenticeship, tuition in the tens of thousands, decades of practice, and, more than anything, the brutal currency of time. A physician spent twelve years beyond high school before being trusted to cut into a human body. A lawyer spent seven years and a bar exam before being permitted to argue before a judge.

There’s also knowledge that is not derived from scientific experiments or observation.
For example, the very fundamentals of mathematics are literally just agreed upon statements taken to be true.
(This is referred to as an axiomatic system, a type of deductive logical structure; also very popular in computer science!).

Here in Minneapolis it’s been widespread common knowledge that ICE agents are getting paid per head they bring in, no matter how incorrectly, no matter the actual immigration status of the person they kidnapped, no matter how carelessly or violently they do it.
It’s nice to see this confirmed in print.

I made some bread last night. I’m not very experienced making bread but my pizza making knowledge helps a bit.

Interesting discourse elsewhere (not really important what) is showing that people do not know the difference between science and the scientific method.
So as a PSA, science is a systematic endeavor to gain knowledge.
The scientific method (as the name implies), is a practical way to pursue science; with observation, theories and experiments. (There’s other ways, too.)
