I gotta say, the old 2017 MacBook Air I just got (for free!) is a really nice laptop. It's lightweight, the screen is large (enough), and the battery is great!
It sort of blows away the 2010/2012 13" MacBook Pro I installed Linux Mint on a few months ago.
Right now the MBA is running Monterey but at some point I'll probably put Mint on it as well. (Or something else.)

With everything else that is going on, it is always nice to see things growing, like these radishes that I planted last week!
#Radishes #HomeGarden

Photo of a small square planter with dark soil, covered with a metal mesh (for protection), this was on day 1
Photo of the same planter without the mesh, on day 6, with several small green leaves poking from the ground
We planted 3 rows of "French" radishes and in between them two rows of spring onions. The onions should take more time to sprout.

A heady throng of tech billionaires, ministers, corporate titans and the king of the Netherlands have convened in Sweden for the 71st Bilderberg meeting
– the publicity-shy annual policy conference that has long sustained conspiracy theorists
– hosted this year by the fabulously wealthy Wallenberg family.
The four days of transatlantic talks are taking place at the swanky Grand hotel,
which is owned, like so much else in Sweden, by the Wallenbergs.

One aspect that's often overlooked with dwm is its portability and uniqueness.
The dwm I'm sporting is one that no one else has; it is totally mine and in that sense unique. You build your own program, patches, binds et al.
Making sure all prerequisites are fulfilled you can then just copy your suckless configs to basically any distro and run a make clean install.
That's why I learned to love dwm and why it's still the best wm around, wayland or not.

'Secretary Noem is now claiming that she, along with everyone else there, didn’t even know who Sen. Padilla was. The press conference was in LA & he’s one of the state’s two senators. [H]e’s the ranking member of the Judiciary subcommittee on Border Security & Immigration. Of course she knows who he is. If she doesn’t remember him, she’s an even dumber degenerate punk than I already thought.'

Sadly, @… is right — and the article she quotes is (I think) wrong when it says this:
❝In some real sense Meta's future depends on hiring and retaining those people, and Meta has already committed $65 billion to Al infrastructure this year. What's a few hundred million more?❞
Meta’s future does not in fact depend on hiring these specific researchers. This isn’t for the researchers, and it’s not for the research either. It’s for the investors. It’s making a show of being willing to being even more preposterously all-in on AI than anyone else, because investors are gaga for that shit. mas.to/@kims/11466606551179856
