While helping my mum with something recently, I've noticed that her #GMail started featuring a banner that she ran out of space, and mails will stop arriving in less than a month. As expected, she never even noticed it. On the other hand, I had two thoughts about it.
Firstly, of course, #Google are shameless assholes (Microsoft's even worse, as I boosted at some point before). Mom's new phone came with Google Photos preinstalled in place of vendor's gallery, and of course it automatically started making backups of her photos and movies in the "cloud", or as I'd like to call it, to pedophiles. The photos finally filled up the free space, and Google started doing everything to convince her to buy more space. I honestly doubt she'd be able to figure out that she needed to turn these backups off and wipe them; if anything, I suspect she'd just start hopelessly removing photos from the phone, which might not have helped at all.
Secondly, it's that if such a thing happened to me, I probably wouldn't even know, because I'm reading my mail via a mail client. So I wouldn't ever have seen their banner. Well, unless they also send a mail about it, and my mom missed it among all the spam.

Today in the drizzle I stopped by the Living Library, a beautiful native plant garden near SF's Balboa Park at the San Jose/Seneca intersection. Highly recommend a visit to see some #ceanothus in bloom and California poppies and island mallows beginning to, and much more.

A shrub with large leaves and a few small pink flowers. Seems to be Malva assurgentiflora, or island mallow.
A row of two or three shrubs that look like one shrub at first glance, but there are two distinct types of flowers: one variety is more blue-indigo and larger, the other is smaller and purple. They have dark green leaves and are something in the Ceanothus genus, or mountain lilac.
Information panel titled: "California Native Plants: The ecological benefits of planting Native San Francisco. Life frames a living library." A bunch of text I can't fit here about the benefits of planting native, restoring nature, one plant at a time. A colorful drawing shows some California native plants and their associated pollinators: California poppy and native bees, milkweed and monarch butterfly, yarrow and hummingbird, buckwheat and native bee, toyon and cedar waxwing.

Wie aus einem veröffentlichten Behördendokument hervorgeht, soll damit die Bettenzahl in Haftzentren der umstrittenen Einwanderungsbehörde ICE auf fast 93.000 erhöht werden. Beim Amtsantritt von Präsident Trump vor gut einem Jahr befanden sich rund 40.000 Menschen in ICE-Haft. Die Behörde will bereits existierende 'umstrittene Einwanderungsbehörde ICE' rot unterstrichen

Just had an elderly women neighbour in for tea. Cars came up, and I said we've been electric since 2017. She looked horrified and asked how we managed -they'll only go for 50 miles before the battery is flat!
I blame the Telegraph and the Daily Mail for poisoning the minds of little old ladies.

Was Hänschen mal lernt, vergisst Hans nimmermehr.
Jedenfalls nicht, ein Multimeter beim zurück räumen ins Regal auf den größten Spannungsmessbereich einzustellen. Dann kann nämlich am wenigsten kaputt gehen, wenn man das beim nächsten Mal benutzt und nicht aufpasst, was man misst. Gelernt in meiner Berufsausbildung, ca. 1987.

Die Zahlen zu digitaler Gewalt bei #Lesubia sind ziemlich gering. Allerdings sind scheinbar auch nicht alle Formen abgefragt worden.
Was fehlt zB:
➖ Einsatz von Stalkerware
➖ Mitlesen von E-Mails
➖ Lokalisierung, auch durch AirTags
➖ Aufnahmen durch Minikameras
➖ Überwachung durch Kinderspielzeug
