Theodor Seuss Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss, was born today (March 2) in 1904. Growing up in the 80s, Seuss books were huge for me. I'm still a massive fan, and have a decent amount of Seuss collectibles 😂
My wife asked the other day what my favorites of his are, and I'd never thought about it. I love all of em from Cats to Fish, but for me, it's these two. I read these CONSTANTLY as a kid.

The Push for 875,000 People to Help Get California Billionaire Tax on the Ballot
Inside an art deco theater on the edge of Koreatown,
"Rage Against the Machine" guitarist Tom Morello took the stage to cheers from a packed house.
He wasn’t the main act.
That was Sen. Bernie Sanders,
who was there to rage against California’s billionaires.

theandyharris > Melania Movie
Just saw the movie "Melania" at a sold out theater in Huntington Beach. When the credits rolled, the whole audience erupted in a 35 minute standing ovation. Every woman in the theater was crying. Every man in the theater jizzed in his pants simultaneously. Everybody then started speaking in tongues. The guy in front of me shouted "I don't deserve to see a film this pure" and took his own life right then and there. 1/2

In tech circles a lot of people have been talking about ATProto as the future of social media or building their latest flashy social network built with it, alongside companies trying to get in as well. The whole thing looked owned by one compa…

There are investigations linking specific no-name Twitter accounts with less than 30 followers as the source of Musk's and Trump's disinformed beliefs. We are able to trace Trump's conspiracy beliefs of the gold being stolen in Fort Knox to just some random account on Twitter claiming it.
Whoever runs that account has more influence than you. You don't even need Russia or China to plant disinformation on a mass-scale, apparently all it takes is some Twitter Account.

A 1999 Oklahoma newspaper clipping that described a man’s final moments before execution inspired Julie Green to begin their series “The Last Supper.”
“He asked for a final meal of three fried chicken thighs, 10 or 15 shrimp, tater tots with ketchup, two slices of pecan pie, strawberry ice cream, honey and biscuits and a Coke,” they read aloud in a short documentary about the series.
You can see 377 plates Green painted with these last meals at the Georgia Museum.

A detail of Julie Green's "The Last Supper," an art project in which Green painted the requested last meals of incarcerated people on death row in blue on found ceramic plates. The image shows about 30 plates, hung close together on a gallery wall.

A few pictures from yesterday night at the #39C3
(License: CC BY-SA 4.0)

A dimly lit large room with some round and square tables. All sorts of light installations re cluttered on the table and in the room: LEDs on strings hanging from the ceiling that form a cylinder on one table, colorful LED stripes and theater lights in the background. The desks are filled with electronic equipment like 3D printers, laptops, power outlets and alike.
A large dimly lit hall with a big rocket ("Fairy Dust") in the front. A toroid-like shape with mirrors like a disco ball is hanging from the ceiling surrounded by several large rings. Powerful light beams shine through sparse fog and the reflections of the toroid mirrors are projected onto the walls. Stairways are decorated with several banners ("OpenWrt", "Trans right are human rights", "Amnesty International" etc.)
A white van with the medical cross logo from Cadus is lit with colorful red/orange/violet lights and medical/technical gear (flight cases, pumps etc.) is on display around the van. In the background blurry light dots and more colorful light is visible in a dimly lit hall.
A hallway in a dimly lit large hall is surrounded by decorated walls. Posters from the 39C3 motto ("Power Cycles") are hung up on the walls, others are decorated with fluorescent tape that shines in neon colors in the blueish/violet UV light. More LED stripes and some spotlights create a colorful atmosphere.

Just this week, both Mike Lindell and Elon Musk have called for my imprisonment.
But while they’re focusing on fueling Twitter battles and unleashing right-wing bots,
I’m focused on securing a better future for every Minnesotan.
That’s my priority, and it always will be.
Our end-of-year deadline is coming up tonight at midnight,
and folks like Elon and Mike are going to be watching …
