I messaged my doctor's office about the extreme pain I am in. From the response:
"You should not be in excruciating pain, that is not reasonable."
I agree! Sadly they have no solution besides refilling my prescriptions, telling me to continue what I am doing, and telling me to wait a week for the next appointment.
(Luckily my daughter was just in Illinois.)

So, my initial review of the Yaelink SIP-T42S before I have the in hand:
- The documentation exists, but can be a pain in the ass to track down exactly what you need.
- Looks like I've got everything already setup to serve the boot configurations and should work with my FreePBX installation. I'll probably get these setup as backups in case I lose a couple of Digium D40 phones during the competition.

This is actually not too far off from a pamphlet I wrote at my community college as an experiment in "turning assignments into creative writing." I was taking a religion class, so I decided to create one. I was working in a group and by the end we had developed 3 sects of the religion and we each talked about our sect and how it related and differed from the original text.
I also handed out pamphlets at a mall, half as part of a psychology class (because why not find a way to reuse my material) and part as an experiment to see how long it would take to get kicked out of said mall. (The answer was bout 15 minutes, if I remember correctly.)
Somewhere between there and here, the books "The Evolution of God" and "Non-Zero" came out (written, interestingly but probably unrelated, by someone who lived in the town with that mall where I handed out those flyers). These books both have heavily overlapping ideas with the original pamphlet (lost, which may not be the worst thing since it was full of spelling and grammar errors).
But both of those books had a decidedly theistic flavor, though, I think, they were more generally liberal. The whole #CultPunk thing feels like a missing piece to something that's been bouncing around in my head for... uh... some years. But not so much at the front of my mind.
It was actually in the hospital, on pain killers and ketamine, that this all came rushing back. Perhaps that's the right state of mind for such things.

Quick health update. It’s been three weeks since my steroid injections into my spine.
I’ve had a few good days. Not “great” days, not “normal” days, but days of much lower pain levels.
Today I awoke to pain that matched the levels of before the injections. Today is terrible. It’s been three weeks, so I emailed my doctor to ask what’s next.

Knee update:
4 weeks postop. Pain is way less. Strength returning and stamina is returning, though at a slower pace.
I still don’t have the extension (ability to get the leg completely straight) I want b need. That’s what we’re concentrating on in Physical Therapy and home exercises.

Things I have learned over the last two days consolidating all the VMs in the homelab to the same OS:
- Plex is absolutely horrible and hates NFS. It also hates you.
- Docker volumes are annoying as hell, but easy to deal with if you know how to get the data out of the volumes. If you're rocking a lot of them it will be a pain to move them to another server.
- Forgejo actions are also a pain in the ass.

So, spent most of the day getting Handbrake compiled with the `svt-av1-psyex` and `svt-av1-essential` forks of the SvtAv1 encoder. However, I did win that battle and both are now available in the `sisyphus-client` containers. Definitely a pain in the ass, but it's nice to have options depending on what you want to use. Also updated the documentation to make sure I don't forget which is which.
I still need to implement some pipelines to build these, but holy crap the Handbrak…

I got a Megalodon Triple Knob Macro Pad running QMK last year, mainly for a potential project for a client which didn't pan out so I decided to start using it.
Sadly, it's a piece of shit that bricked itself for macros, so I have a macro pad that cannot macro.
I have a way to make it work (hack!) but it's a pain in the ass.
I want to blame the hardware and not the firmware for this. Seems like it might be an EEPROM issue since even reflashing does not fix it.

I've been in pain (of various states) for over a month now, and I'm trying different techniques to deal with it.
Since it's not an injury I am now trying to "push through the pain" and by that I mean instead of lying on a heating pad trying to relieve the pain I get up, get moving, and do things.
And... it hurts like hell. But yesterday it only hurt like hell for like 90 minutes, so I could deal with that.
Contrast to 6 hours lying in bed the day befor…

The latest pain report is that the new medication and increased old medication may be working because the last two days I managed to sleep until 5am (instead of 3am) and the pain hasn’t been as bad.
10 more days until my next appointment where they electrify a needle inserted into my back.

This year has been the most difficult health-wise for me. I am extremely grateful to all you Fediverse Friends who have helped me in any way.

I haven’t written any blog posts lately due to the pain I’ve been dealing with but I’m filling up my plog. Oh, my “plog” is my “pain log”, a little notebook to track when I take my pain medication and to note my pain levels. The latest entry: “12:45pm - took gabapentin and ibuprofen, had lunch, still in a shit-ton of pain”

Sometimes I try to alleviate the pain by lying face down on a bed. Lately as soon as I do this there’s a cat on my back providing pressure and heat therapy. (And occasional acupuncture!)

Today was my first attempt at a “normal” workday in the past three months. I got into the office by 9:20am, has#d to lie down for a while because I was in pain and dizzy, felt better after that but drowsy all day and I think blurred vision too. I got work done but at like 75% speed. Made it to 5pm and then got home completely exhausted. It’s a start.

Yesterday was complete shit. I was in pain nearly all day and afternoon. Got a little relief in the afternoon (thanks Illinois gummy!) and then had insomnia & more pain at bedtime. Finally fell asleep then awoke and ran to the bathroom at 4:20am because I thought I was going to sick. Ugh… had some food, took my morning meds, and back to bed.

File Under FML: I went to the hospital for my procedure today and during check-in I mentioned how my finger was swollen, which just started last night.
They then canceled my procedure due to risk of infection since my finger appears to be infected.
Then they told me to go to Urgent Care where I got a prescription for antibiotics, and UG told me if it gets worse I need to go to the ER.
Also, procedure is rescheduled for two weeks from now. So, two more weeks of pain.
