25 days, is how long it took my wife’s passport application to be mailed from a post office in the U.S. to the Canadian passport application center in Quebec.

I used the new Iphone feature to load my US passport into the wallet.
It worked. But I discovered that my passport was about to expire.
So I discovered that I can renew the passport (and card) online - so I sent for it.
It is rather picky about photographs, but after taking about 30 shots I got one that it would take.
So, in a mere month and $160 expended I'll get my new US passport. I hope.

Seriously, though, USians, before you tell someone from the Middle East to “check your privilege”, why don’t you open up your US passport, have a good look at it, and then check your own goddamn privilege before putting your whole foot in your mouth publicly? Maybe also look up intersectionality while you’re at it and realise that it’s not a fucking pissing contest. I am trying to renew my US passport. I sent in an application via their online renewal system. It worked well - except that it is picky about photographs.
Well, the rejected the application because they now do not like the photograph that they had accepted.
And now they tell me dimensions - e.g. head 1.38 inches high. Well, I sent 'em a digital photo and unless they tell me the pixel resolution of their printers I can't tell 1.38 inches from a hole in the ground.

I'm on my third passport. I've visited 27 foreign countries, including China and Russia, plus some territories. I have to admit that the United States leads the world when it comes to xenophobic ignoramuses.

Did you know that 70% of Canadians own a passport which puts us in the upper middle worldwide when compared to other countries. "Ownership" is technically incorrect as all Canadian passports legally remain the property of the Crown and must be returned upon request. According to the Henley Global Passport Index, Canada is among the top countries in Passport Power, ranked 8th on the global mobility spectrum. Trust in the nation issuing the document and in its citizens helps place a country in the rankings. I wonder why recently the USA dropped out of the top 10 for the 1st time? Canada is a member of the Five Nations Passport Group, an international forum for cooperation and sharing of best practices between the passport issuing authorities of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and the USA.
