How does someone trying to find an IP address present a warrant to the dns resolver? Is this a dnssec extension? An AXFR with TSIG/SIG(0)? Or are the warrant & query (and responsive records) transmitted over some other protocol (eg eg dns over postal mail)?

All these years I have believed that TNT, the logistics company, was related to the Thurn und Taxis noble family which after all used to run the postal service in the Holy Roman Empire in the 1800s, so it was easy to assume there must be a connection. Today I learnt that it stood for Thomas Nationwide Transport, which initially was an Australian company.
