@alejandrobdn@social.linux.pizzaThis Home Assistant thing is a real rabbit hole. I thought I'd just learn something like "a new Docker container", a couple of days of learning and I'd be done. My ass! HA is a freaking Swiss Army knife: I can automate even the damn toaster, and HA will help me create a new scene for it.
If you don't hear from me in the coming weeks, it's because there's no cell service at the bottom of the rabbit hole. Wish me good luck.

If you’ve ever tried to write a secure and private distributed communications protocol, you know how hard it is to get it right. (If you have, you are seriously nerdy!) It is really easy to make mistakes, even for professional security developers. So, when Guy Kawasaki mentioned the Signal “Double Ratchet” protocol I was intrigued. I thought I knew a lot about security protocols but this one caught me flat-footed. Down the rabbit hole I went.

Number two: it brought back that rush of enthousiasm and curiosity, like when i opened my first Toshiba 8088 laptop, at home, on my kitchentable. When Windows was still fun. OS/2!

Was browsing the Internet and ran across one of those math social media posts that asked to solve `8^x 2^x = 30` and decided to go all the way down the rabbit hole on the solution. Also learned a bit about spacing in math mode for LaTeX as well...

Texte aus den Jahren 2006 bis 2011 wieder zu lesen, ruft einiges an Erinnerungen wach - die Debatten um Web 2.0 und social media in der Politik, der sich abzeichnende Politikwechsel in Baden-Württemberg (und Stuttgart 21 ist immer noch nicht fertig gebaut), aber auch biografische Pfade, die ich nicht eingeschlagen habe.
