I'm baffled that this guy is a respected analyst. Yeah, an infinite number of AI agents will spend their money on content from human creators, making those humans infinitely rich. I see no flaws in this model.

First, the protocol layer should have a mechanism for payments via digital currency, i.e. stablecoins. Second, AI providers like ChatGPT should build an auction mechanism that pays out content sources based on the frequency with which they are cited in AI answers. The result would be a new universe of creators who will be incentivized to produce high quality content that is more likely to be useful to AI, competing in a marketplace a la the open web; indeed, this…

This is the main square in Piran, Slovenia, early morning today. Only 10 minutes away, the 22nd Extended Semantic Web Conference ESWC 2025 will take place, starting on Sunday, June 1st, 2025. I'm looking forward to meeting dear colleagues as well as old and new friends, listening to exciting keynotes, great presentations, and many more activities.

This is the main old city sqaure of the pitoresque town or Piran, at the southernmost end of Slovenia. The square is surrounded by historical classicistic buildings. You see the campanile of the church behind those buildings.

From this year on, ESWC will be under the umbrella of SWSA, the Semantic Web Science Association, to secure financial sustainability for the upcoming years after its previous supporting organisation STI was dissolved in 2023. Basics about the transition are given by Elena Simperl, president of SWSA.

The image shows a presentation slide titled "ESWC[@]SWSA" displayed on a large screen. The slide outlines the oversight rules that SWSA will follow with ESWC, similar to those at ISWC. The text includes bullet points detailing the roles and responsibilities, such as inviting the general chair, approving program chairs, and holding town hall meetings for improvement. It also mentions the transparent process for appointing local hosts, using profits for sustainability, and ensuring the conference…

a grumble about tech-related assumptions
The fair pay campaign leaflet had a QR code, but with my phone it didn't actually work - I suspect because of the reversed colour-scheme.
I guess either they didn't test it at all or they tested it with swankier cleverer phones.
And there was no web address anywhere on the flyer, not even in small print! (The article above is one I looked up by searching.)
It strikes me as classic present-day "romance of clever tech". Where is the basic common sense of "not everyone has the same phone" or "what's the fallback if the technical cleverness doesn't work".
