Some recent photons from my driveway, a very faint hydrogen gas bridge between two galaxies about 50 million light years away.
At some point in the past the larger galaxy collided with the one at the bottom and basically ripped it apart, dragging some hydrogen gas with it.
This is about 52 hours of exposure time.

A monochrome image looking at Hydrogen emissions in the The Eyes and Messier 86 galaxies, and showing a very faint and brittle gas bridge between them. Arrows added to show where to look for, as it's very low contrast and hard to see.

Detail of wood and stucco building, a protruding balcony window upstairs; some of the wooden slats below the window have decayed and fallen down.
Tall double-hung window in decrepit building covered with vines.
Detail of 19th century wooden building with some carved "gingerbread" style decorative wooden details. Looking to set of three windows in center of attic above porch; most of the panes of glass are missing.
Side of a once grand old 3 story house divided into apartments. Some windows have air-conditioners, some drawn shades, and some wooden boards behind them. At center a large window retains old decorative stained glass; the top of the center pane is slightly open.

You can now create HTML and CSS fragments in Kitten.
This introduces two new file extensions (.fragment.html and .fragment.css) and you can import these fragments into your pages and into other components and fragments as if they were JavaScript modules*.
HTML fragments also support slots.
Example:

Screenshot of terminal window on left, web browser on right.

Terminal window has hx (Helix Editor)
running, showing 23 lines of code, with the first two highlighted:

import Styles from './Styles.fragment.css'
import Markup from './Markup.fragment.html'

export default async () => kitten.html`
  <page css>
  <h1>HTML and CSS fragments</h1>

  <${Markup}>
    <div>I’m content from index.page.js for the default slot.</div>
    <content for='other'>
      <div>I’m content from index.page.js for …
Screenshot of terminal window showing hx (Helix Editor) with two panes.

Left pane, selected, shows source of Markup.fragment.html:

<div class='box'>
  <p>I’m some HTML from Markup.fragment.html.</p>

  ${SLOT}

  <p>I’m some other HTML Markup.fragment.html.</p>

  ${SLOT.other}

  <p>I’m yet more HTML Markup.fragment.html.</p>
</div>

Right pane shows source of Styles.fragment.css:

/* I’m some CSS */
:root {
  --accent-colour: red;
  --border-width: 2px;
}

Was a bit frustrated and tired after work due to some false positives I couldn't figure out. Slept for two hours and then got up again to not loose a bike day in the Swiss #BikeToWork campaign and—more important 😉—to not break my #BikeStreak. It became yet another midnight ride, so in theory it …

A large sign with explanations and a map of the Waldlabor Zürich (Forest Lab Zurich)

Shot in the dark without flash to avoid reflections. There are two reflections from some lights behind the photographer visible nevertheless.
Center of Zurich by night in the distance.

Shot from some ridge above Höngg (an outer quarter of Zurich).
Center of Zurich by night with a large cloud above it, lit from below by the city lights.

Shot from the upper hillslide near the well-known restaurant "Die Waid" above Wipkingen (another quarter of Zurich).

I also saw this as the equivalent of throwing a (semantic) grenade into a room and then running, but unlike at least the first person I saw make that analogy, I think it’s hilarious AND valid.
“I have stated all I have to contribute, it’s grown past my attention, have fun discussing it” makes sense to ME.
I’m gonna guess people complaining about this have never had a post “blow up” and get popular - it’s pretty overwhelming pretty fast.
I salute you! 🫡

Looks like there’s some corrosion signs but it’s all external? Board and battery look pristine. Maybe at some point it sat in like a tiny amount of water? We’ll see what happens when we turn it on…
