Content warning: Reminder: Portable restroom holding tanks are confined spaces that can become dangerous if someone enters them

The man later told first responders he had accidentally dropped a Mountain Dew bottle into the portable toilet the previous evening
and climbed into the waste tank in an attempt to retrieve it.
According to Counterman, the man estimated he had been trapped for about eight hours before workers discovered him during their morning inspection.
The circumstances surrounding his account have not been independently verified by authorities.

Okay, the breakdown *by-language* of Artificial Analysis's "Omniscience" hallucination/capability benchmark is absolutely fascinating.
I feel like this is some of the first concrete evidence I've seen of my longtime lean: that the *correctness* tooling we obsess over in PLT spaces is one of the greatest possible value-adds to the LLM era. (Just look at the Rust row, holy shit.)
Choosing a good language basically shifts the quality of output by an entire cost-cat…

a graph of software-engineering-benchmark competence and hallucinations, by LLM model, against programming-language. There are visible 'green bands' for the rows of some languages; they are strongly correlated with the languages that provide strong, high-quality typing guarantees, strictness, and compiler guardrails. e.g. Rust and Swift carry a significant visible lead against e.g. Java and Julia.

Phoenix held the orb. The knowing moved through her, filling the spaces between her ribs, pressing against the walls of her chest. It was enormous, this man's sorrow and love and regret, too large for a letter, too large for a lifetime, and she held it. She held it the way she'd held the hill sprite matriarch's humming and Oak's silence and the sentient mailbox's existential crisis and the taste of her mother's soup on a Tuesday afternoon.
