This situation actually reminds me a bit of the dotcom bubble collapse in the late '90s / early '00s, with slight differences.
Declining stocks & VC led to a bunch of startups initially being unable to obtain additional funding. To make matters worse, ad demand started falling, leading to lower revenues for ad-based internet services.

Beginn von Bauarbeiten direkt neben dem #MPSGöttingen: Bis Sommer 2026 sollen westlich des Gebäudes ein neues Wohnheim sowie eine Kindertagesstätte entstehen. Nachdem die Arbeiten zu Beginn dieser Woche aufgrund guten Wetters früher als erwartet starteten, zeigte sich die Szenerie heute zunächst ausgesprochen neblig. Die Sonne war dadurch über längere Zeit hinweg durch den Nebel gefilt…

Ein mehrstöckiges Gebäude vor sehr grauem Himmel, im Vordergrund eine Schotterfläche, die durch einen Bauzaun abgesperrt ist. Auf der Schotterfläche stehen zwei Bagger. Durch das Grau des Himmels scheint eine weiße runde Scheibe mit kontrastreich abgegrenztem Rand.

Eine geschlossene rote-weiße Schranke, die den Zugang zu einem Parkplatz vor einem mehrstöckigen Gebäude versperrt. Durch das Grau des Himmels über dem Gebäude scheint eine weiße runde Scheibe mit kontrastreich abgegrenztem Rand.
Vorderansicht eines Gebäudes, die sich bei nebligem Wetter durch das Zusammenspiel deutlich unterschiedlicher Graustufen auszeichnet. Ein grau gepflasterter Vorplatz, ein hellerer darauf abgestellter Container, eine weiße Gebäudefront mit einem mehrstöckigen großen Tor, eine weitere kleinere dunklere Tür links neben dem Tor, und ein aufgesetztes Gebäudeteil mit grüngrau erscheinenden Fensterfronten am entfernten Ende des Bauwerks heben sich gegen einen grauen Himmel ab. Thank you, @… . It's been decades since I thought about DOS Shell.
Our first PC came with MS-DOS 5 and also Windows 3.1. So even then DOS Shell seemed quaint and antiquated. But in a fun way.
