#Marisol -Ausstellung im #Kunsthaus #Zürich. Mit einem Objekt aus 1963 welches auch zu heute passt. Und einem Dickpic.

Baby Boy, 1962/63

Das Bild zeigt eine großformatige, aus Holz gefertigte Skulptur in einem Museumsraum. Die Figur wirkt wie eine stilisierte, blockartige Marionette oder Spielzeugfigur. Ihr Oberkörper ist quadratisch und bemalt, mit einer gestreiften Weste und hellblauen Akzenten. Der Kopf ist oval und trägt ein freundlich-groteskes Gesicht. Marisol stützte sich bei Baby Boy und Baby Girl auf ihre Sammlung von Studioporträts von Babys und Kindern.
Die daraus entstehenden Skulpturen erhoben das «Mid-Century»-Ideal niedlicher Kinder in wahrhaft monströse Ausmasse. Journalist:innen, die die Skulpturen 1964 im Rahmen von Marisols gefeierter Einzelausstellung in der New Yorker Stable Gallery erstmals sahen, bezeichneten sie als «mon-ströse Kinder», «hassenswerte Riesen-babys», «übermässig süsse aber böswillige Monster» und Beleg dafür, …

Ich bin steckengeblieben. In Elsass. Freiwillig.
Eigentlich wollte ich nur nach Straßburg, doch dann habe ich die wunderschönen Orte drum herum entdeckt und mich gleich verliebt.
Heute auf einem Weinwanderweg gewandert, auf dem Postkartenromantik versprochen wurde – völlig zu Recht. Entschleunigung pur.
Außerdem geht es im Elsass offenbar vorrangig um gutes Essen. I like dat.
