A Bay Area startup that manufactures drones to tackle wildfires has just signed its first customer, the Aspen Fire Protection District.
The company, Seneca, recently announced that its fleet of five drones (dubbed a “strike team”) would be coming to the famed Colorado ski town this summer,
making Aspen the first wildfire agency in America to add these types of aircraft to its arsenal.

The existence of Israel is a manifestation of European antisemitism, both historically justifying the project of Zionism and European governments continuing to fund Israel instead of addressing the core role of antisemitism in maintaining (at least) the conservative elements of the neoliberal order.
If antisemitism props up Israel, then a core part of dismantling Israel (and thus saving the lives of Palestinians) is addressing European antisemitism. There are Israeli Jews who would leave if they felt safe to do so. There are Jews demanding Israel be armed, because they don't feel safe anywhere else.
Protest, boycott, take whatever action you feel is appropriate. There is a limit to your ability to convince governments to stop funding genocide, but you can learn about antisemitism and you can work to fight it, especially within "The Left." You can learn to distinguish between legitimate critiques of Israel, and antisemitic ones, and you can stand and call out antisemitic ones.
Honestly, this is some of the easy work that I think a lot of people don't consider even doing, don't even realize it is a thing that can be done.
I'm talking to Israeli folks who identify as being on the Left. It's hard because they've been through a lot of propaganda. Israel is a cult that terrorizes its members. This is important work that can have a huge impact, because it focuses on dismantling the networks of support that reinforce what's happening now.
Meanwhile, I still run into wild things like "Rothschild" conspiracy theories among people who identify with the idea of supporting Palestinians.
Not only can you support the liberation of Palestine and the Palestinian people while opposing antisemitism, but you must actually do both in order to do either. They are exactly the same fight, and anything short of both is thrashing against oneself.

By last fall most auto manufacturers in the USA had scaled back or canceled EVs, focusing instead on combustion engines or Hybrids. Domestic manufacturers were happy that the laws were changed and returned to churning out pickups and SUVs, while Japanese and Korean car companies returned to hybrids and kept their battery strategies for other parts of the world.

In a graph, the decline of the internal combustion engine in German automobile manufacturing, and the (slightly slower, and delayed) rise of electric drivetrains.
Will the average "Auto made in Germany" be one with a plug as of this year?

Car production in Germany. A decade of change. Graph shows car production declining from close to 6 million combustion engine vehicles in to fewer than 3 million in 2025. Rise of BEV+PHEV from almost nothing to 1,5 million in 2025.

There's actually a lot we don't talk about related to cars and the military industrial complex. My point that internal combustion engines align the citizens and the military (by forcing citizens to rely on the critical resource at the center or the military industrial complex) remains evergreen. But people also generally don't realize that the manufacturing infrastructure of cars is fungible, and can be shifted to aircraft and tanks when needed.
Car manufacturing capabilities are intimately related to militarism in a way that bicycles aren't. That's also worth thinking about.

I wonder...
How long time before all the #ai responses to search questions all get contaminated by sponsored tweaks to their answers?
A year?
I understand that Musk's personal ai toy already does that with respect to questions about him. It can't be much harder to sell ad spots that tweak the ai answers in a similar way, to car companies or dishwasher manufacturers.

"A Memphis woman was arrested after she refused AT&T fiber optic installation"
I don't think it's unreasonable to tell a utility crew you don't want a handhole in your yard. Obviously this doesn't scale (they have to put them somewhere) but arresting people over this is silly.
