“The real question, then, is not ‘what can we do?’, but ‘what are we afraid to do?’ Whose comfort are we protecting when we ask safe questions? Whose illusions do we preserve through politeness? Solidarity is not an optic; it is a disruption. It is noisy, uncomfortable, often isolating. It pulls reputation apart rather than polishing it.

We are too fluent in the language of outrage, too comfortable in the posture of virtue. History will not absolve spectatorship, even when specta…

What we witnessed was not journalism but the choreography of propaganda.
CBS, in particular, offered thirty uninterrupted minutes of state-sanctioned fantasy,
anchored by a fawning interview with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth,
a man implicated in the killing of more than one hundred people at sea without evidence, accountability, or due process.
Rather than interrogating power, the networks shifted seamlessly into spectacle.
At no point did either network rais…

Radiant Silvergun: an abundance of weapons
I'm not great at scrolling shooters, though I enjoy their spectacle and the panic they induce as the number of bullets increases. Radiant Silvergun not only has a great many bullets, it also has a great many weapons, all but one of which I forget to use. This makes things very tricky indeed, especially when you're supposed to be firing around corners using a homing missile and I'm stuck firing upwards like a lemon.

'Eisige Zeiten' #FotoVorschlag 'icy times'
Oh I have a couple of frosty photos, but this might be one of my best. I spent quite a while there to capture the cold feeling.
Packed in multiple layers, I really spent quite a while around that spot in order to really see the right motives.
It just reminds me that I could post more of my winter photos! :)

A stunning winter scene reveals a frozen waterfall cascading between towering, snow-covered cliffs. The waterfall, partially frozen in time, glistens with icicles that hang from the rocky ledges, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of nature's raw beauty. The cliffs, blanketed in a thick layer of snow and ice, frame the waterfall and add a sense of grandeur to the scene.

Below, a shallow stream flows gently over snow-dusted rocks, its surface partially covered with a thin layer of ice. The contra…

A Golden Morning At Piz Beverin.
(Luckily, the dense fog was just starting to lift when we arrived, revealing the silent spectacle beyond and the majestic peak...)
#SilentSunday #LandscapePhotography

Cinematic wide-format view of a wintry snow covered mountain massif with its highest peak (Piz Beverin, 2998m) on the right side. The mountain is illuminated by golden morning light, some of the rocks glowing bright orange. In front are still partially dense low hanging clouds (formerly fog banks), but dispersing quickly and some of them with a faint pink tone. Below and further in the front, the silhouette of dense forest, still completely in deep shade. Bright blue sky.

This new #OCR feature in #KDE is fantastic! 🎉 Sadly it's only for Spectacle for now but having OCR as a library is on the road map and I hope it gets added to Gwenview next. The built-in OCR in macOS Preview is so useful that I wondered why KDE still doesn't have it natively yet.

Trump repeatedly promised that his mass deportation efforts would target “the worst of the worst” criminals,
yet the government’s own data reveals that immigrants with no criminal record are the largest group in US immigration detention today.
How can the Trump administration justify its deployment of federal agents, and even the military, to US cities based on the factually disprovable fictions?

As we embrace the Winter Solstice, the year's shortest day, let's reflect on nature's genius and ancient history. 🌌 Stonehenge, aligning perfectly with this celestial event, stands as a testament to human ingenuity. Its timeless mystery and the cosmic forces continue to ignite our curiosity and remind us of our place in the universe's awe-inspiring SPECTACLE.

For a president who wants to project vigor and command at all times, Donald Trump made the worst possible spectacle of himself in the Oval Office last Thursday
when a participant fainted and several officials on hand rushed over.
-- Not Trump, however, who, after turning to look at the fallen man, stood a few feet away at the Resolute Desk with his back to the action, wearing an indifferent expression.
This was pointedly reflected in news photos that instantly went viral.
