I love my electric scooter. I chose one with pneumatic tires because that provides the best ride. Soft, smooth, and grippy.
But getting a flat rear tire sucks. Luckily I was close to home.
Removing the rear tire, replacing the inner tube, and re-mounting took about an hour. It was difficult.

But it took me another hour and a half to get the brakes adjusted and working properly. It’s more complicated than expected. So intricate!

Yesterday I needed to drive my Elise about 150miles to get to today’s Sonoma Raceway event, on new slick tires, and it was raining. I went slowly up the coast road, stopped a few times and made it to the hotel ok. It was dry north of Half Moon Bay and I got a nice pic of the Golden Gate Bridge and SF. Just had my first track session (it’s dry today) and am slowly learning the track. #carsofmastodon

When I sit juuuuust the wrong way, the pneumatic cylinder on my office chair sometimes slips about a millimeter at a time every 30 seconds until it hits the lowest possible point. I feel like I'm riding on a chopper and get up to reset it.

So our 3 weeks of winter is over? Time to take the studded tires off the bike? #BikeNYC #NYC

My wife texts me 10 minutes later saying to drive safe, as she hasn’t been able to stop at the sign either, despite driving the car with the good snow tires. The moral of the story here is sometimes traffic planning has things right the whole time and that local blowhards just get what they want from Council to get them to STFU, to the detriment of everyone else. 3/3

I got the bike out of storage, got the oil changed, got the tires pumped up, and got it out on a shakedown ride. I'm officially ready for summer.

#Lotus club track day coming up on Easter Sunday at Sonoma. Last time out at the track I overheated my brakes so this week I’ve bought some new tools, changed brake pads (to EBC Yellow stuff), changed brake fluid, swapped worn front discs with fresher rear discs, and bought new stickier tires. Aching a bit, but happy that it went well. Now I need to dodge the showers to bed the new pads in.
