This paper establishes the asymptotic stability threshold for the Couette flow $(y,0)$ under the 2D Boussinesq system in $\mathbb{R}^2$. Well yeh that's why my Epson HX-20's 'charge battery' triggers - the detector input is indeed dropping below the 1.2v threshold with serial running (and microcassette connected albeit idle). So the voltage detector is triggering at the right voltage.
It could just be the lack of real batteries I guess, but hmm, getting there.
