Election integrity advocates are demanding a hand recount in Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District
after data shows more than 31,000 votes materialized after 99.4% of ballots were already counted.
At 99.4% reporting, Decision Desk HQ displayed 148,853 total votes.
The final certified tally: 179,899.
The math doesn’t work.
The remaining 0.6% of precincts should have produced roughly 1,000 ballots — not 31,000.
Republican Matt Van Epps was declared the win…

The working plan would only guarantee a future Senate vote on enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies,
not an extension of the credits that Democrats have made a key demand in exchange for their votes.
Even if the Senate passes the new funding measure, it would have to go back to the House for another vote before going to Donald Trump’s desk for his signature.

We know that the R's will roll over that vote, that el-cheato won't sign, and that even if enacted, will simply become a bag of cash that el-cheato will use for whatever purpose he wants.

Manipulating voters:
"AI models needn’t be more powerful, more personalized, or more skilled in advanced rhetorical techniques to be more convincing. Instead, chatbots were most effective when they threw fact-like claims at the user; the most persuasive AI models were those that provided the most “evidence” in support of their argument, regardless of whether that evidence had any bearing on reality. In fact, the most persuasive chatbots were also the least accurate."

USpol
Was just having a conversation with someone about how "50%" of the country voted for Trump and in reminding them it's way less took the time to look up the numbers. In 2024 Trump got 77.3 million votes in a country of 340.1 million people. That's 22.7% of the people. ~21.5% of the people are under age 18, so 263.6 million adults. Trump got the vote of 29.3% of them. Some of those adults aren't eligible to vote, but when discussing social dynamics, they matter just as much, as do kids... Even of the people who voted for Trump, many were not at all MAGA fanatics (even if they at minimum had a seriously warped worldview and dangerous politics of one kind or another).
The truth is, almost no president has ever had a huge popular mandate, because our society is engineered to let a minority political class retain most of the power while giving the illusion of influence to the masses.

You see some effort on the part of Congress to assert itself in the realm of war.
But it failed predominantly on party lines
Republicans predominantly were supporting the president and whatever it happens to be that he would like to do.
Moderate Republicans and Republicans who are in less safe districts were and are more likely to at least stand up a little bit to the president,
but there’s a very small number of them.

The International Association of Cryptologic Research (IACR) said Friday that the votes were submitted and tallied using Helios,

It was the second bipartisan vote against Trump’s tariffs in as many days — the Senate also voted Tuesday to block tariffs on Brazilian goods,
— though neither move will take effect, because they would still need to be approved by the House

Trump's pardon of Rudi Guilliani
could wind up having a huge effect on election conspirators like Matthew Alan Laiss,
who is accused of voting in both Pennsylvania and Florida in the 2020 election.
According to a federal indictment handed down in September,
Laiss moved from Pennsylvania to Florida in August of 2020 and voted first with a mail-in ballot in Pennsylvania and then in person in Florida on election day.
Both votes were for Trump, Laiss’ lawyers …

For four months, Trump had been haranguing Indiana Republicans to redraw their congressional district maps
to carve out two new safe Republican seats.
Right now, Indiana is overwhelmingly Republican.
Seven of the state’s nine congressional districts are solidly red.
But Republicans control Congress as a whole by a mere three votes.
Given how dramatically Republican measures and candidates under-performed this year,
Trump has reason to worry in the 2026…

There are no plans for Donald Trump to meet with Vladmir Putin “in the immediate future”, a White House official told the Guardian.
The official added that the recent call between secretary of state Marco Rubio and Russia’s foreign minister Sergei Lavrov was “productive”, and therefore an additional-in-person meeting between the envoys is “not necessary”.
This comes after Trump announced a yet-to-be determined bilateral summit with Putin in Budapest, Hungary, after his conversati…
