Yesterday was one of those good days doing hard stuff, playing with Chebyshev polynomials, binary coefficients, factorials of half integers, and other fun. All in the interest of a pointless decision to (re)implement the general 𝚪 function using the Lanczos approximation, but totally worth it for the experience alone.
The internet, the good old internet, is a treasure trove for this kind of work, especially but not exclusively wikipedia@wikis.world.

OK this may be my first encounter with the enshittification of OneDrive - I know it only from the online cloud storage that you have to actually acitively save stuff too.
Appears that microsoft has it as default storgae so everything saved on hard drive of laptop is also backed up to their cloud.
And this onedrive storage is "full" after we downloaded full google photos* backup yesterday. So I can't do anything here even though the laptop itslef has a goood 150 Gb free on the hard drive.
Swearing is starting to happen. 3/n
*another world of pain I won't go into here.

Yesterday I finished "A First Time for Everything" by Dan Santant. A lovely autobiographical graphic novel about a summer foreign exchange trip between middle and high school with plenty of awkwardness but also some romance.
It perfectly captures the state of an awkward but also self-aware pre-teen/young teenager, and the various international escapades depicted are both hilarious and touching. Also fascinating to read about international travel circa 1989, which in many ways was comparable to stuff I remember from late in the 90s: parents seeing you off at the gate; expected to navigate a foreign city with just a map, etc.
A really fun book.

Well today’s been… something. I got my cortisone injection yesterday around 2pm. Felt okay the rest of the day. Woke up at 4:30am in extreme pain, and I’m still in quite a bit of pain (though not as bad) almost 10 hours later. 😩

Good morning! First snow around, a day of workshop ahead, #commuting by train again.
Yesterday I had to go by car - I admit that I found it quite annoying to be forced to concentrate on the traffic. But I also attended a #meetup which brought a good insight.
Anyways, enjoy your day!

A serene winter evening unfolds under a deep blue sky, where a solitary streetlamp casts a warm, golden glow over a snow-dusted park. The light from the lamp illuminates the immediate area, creating a striking contrast between the bright foreground and the shadowy, snow-covered field that stretches out into the distance. The snow, lightly blanketing the ground, adds a sense of calm and stillness to the scene.

In the background, bare trees stand tall, their silhouettes stark against the twiligh…
