I took my better camera damselfly hunting today - and found quite a few; (and some ladybirds) - although some better pics were actually at a pond side I more regularly go past.

A 'banded demoselle' damselfly sits on a broadleaf. It's wings are clear with a black blob at the back. It's body is a darkish shimmering blue with a browny red bit where the wings attach.

A common blue damselfly sits on a leaf. It's a cyan colour with black bands.

I think an Emerald Damselfly sitting on a leaf; it's dark and light green with big black eyes looking at the camera and hairy legs.

A red lady bird on some type of grass stem in a field. I count about 5 or so black spots on it.

Hello Fedi lazyweb.
There will be a solar eclipse on August 12th (only partial in the UK) and I was wondering how to take photos of it.
A quick web search indicates that pointing a camera directly at the sun can be just as quick to burn out digital sensors as it is to burn out human retinas. And I don't want to do either!
I have some ISO-certified eclipse glasses for my eyes, does anyone have any suggestions for how to protect a camera lens (either a physical digital camera or a smartphone camera).
