When you shoot a 20-year-old roll of color film from CVS, you know you are going to get some surprises. In this case, all the photos are blue and almost unrecognizable. I did my best in Photoshop to remove the blue, and now they are more recognizable.

wind splitting seconds on this cornflower stalk last year. I did not change anything between these pictures, nor did much time pass, I just kept pressing the shutter as the wind kept moving the branches of the birch tree in whose half-shadow I was standing

I haven't been able to get a positive ID on the "sloppy daisies" that grow in Shindagin Hollow State forest but species that look similar are found in Mexico, Hawaii and other places -- these often have missing or irregularly shaped petals

A yellow flower with 6 irregular petals and maybe 1 or 2 missing would have a circumscribed circle fill about 70% of the square frame it is in; it is not quite in perfect focus and shaows of some of its petals can be seen on a green leaf behind it that is really unfocused, the background to the upper right turns from dark purple to light purple as you go down.

I'm standing in the middle of a shallow spot in the creek with ripples radiating away from my (just barely) unseen legs, to the left is a close outcropping of rock with a flat part that then rises up and gets covered with trees and on the other seen a thin layer of rock is visible and lots of trees, in the center of the frame the path curves out of sight first to the right and then to the left and the sky is mostly white cloud with just a little blue visible.

Ithaca falls on a really bright day -- I want to come back on a cloudy day and get some shots that include a really neat cairn that was in a dark shadow this time.

Roughly the bottom half is a shallow but wide creek with a few rocks visible above the water and others visible below the water, a little bit of a vegetated bank comes in at the middle left. The main event is a tall waterfall of brown rock with a large number of cascades on it; there are a lot of trees to the left, with a fall kind of green that was real, not just color graded, and an almost perfectly clear blue sky above it.

I'm not sure if anyone got a penalty for this play in the Field Hockey game this weekend between the Big Red and the U Vermont Catamounts but I can say there's no game where I've seen people yell more at the refs
