I've been adding photographs to an online family archive from 20-year-old photo CDs and it's a SLOG. Sometimes I have to try a second reader, sometimes I have to copy files to the hard drive first. Anyway, just wanted to mention in case anyone has piles of these sitting around. Their useful days are numbered. #photography

On our hike last Saturday I wanted to get an ipression of the part of the trail - the problem: the original photo just looked bad - chaos, "bad" light, ...
but I liked the structure and so - converted it to monochrome and was quite surprised to be honest!

I stumbled onto an excellent podcast, Inside Photo Organizing, that has four seasons of tips on how to scan old photo albums, set up backup drives, choose a cloud storage option, share with relatives, sync with genealogy sites, etc. Both hosts (Allison Freedman and Susan Wolak) are nerdy but bring on even nerdier guests. I fancied myself extremely knowledgeable about all the covered topics but it turns out I am only moderately knowledgeable, at best. Eine Stoffoberfläche aus bunten Sechsecken zusammengesetzt. Das Muster nennt sich "Großmutters Blumengarten". Zusätzlich wurde mit weißem Faden darübergenäht, wodurch auf jedem Sechseck auch noch ein Stern zu sehen ist.
