The natural gas price for the EU is up sharply now the Trump-Netanyahu war escalates again. Close to €60/MWh now; that's 100% compared to the price before the war vs 'only' 50% for oil (Brent).
Not a good combination with sluggishly filling up our gas storages. I guess we'll notice in winter.

Pleasantly surprised I can measure this timing difference on my cheap scope; In both cases this is a chain of a pair of inverters in a 74LS04 package; the difference between the two captures is just the length of breadboard wire between the 1st and 2nd inverter; the first is about 1cm and the 2nd is about 20cm; so that's about 0.5ns difference measured which is reasonable - and surprisingly good for a 500MS/s scope.
(The yellow is input from a sig gen, blue is op of 2nd inverter).

Behold, and harken! When I was a wee child, this was my Google.
Its firmware was not upgradable, it needed no charging and was always on.
Dewey, the lord of Decimals, had a system, and it _was_ good.
Encyclopedias were our more formally fact-checked Wikipedia. Microfilm and microfiche the optical technologies we used to access compressed information.

Not entirely sure what my brain was up to, but it prompted Nano Banana to generate an “Overly Concerned Drafthorse,” and well, that’s that.
