Songs in the Key of Life came out September 28, 1976, exactly 50 years ago. I’m holding up the gatefold sleeve, with its warm orange-and-amber sunburst of concentric, ragged-edged rings around a small pen-and-ink portrait at the center. The title curves along the inner ring and Stevie Wonder's name in flowing script below it.
