Apparently the US government departments are starting to join Bluesky and are getting ratioed in that the accounts are being blocked more than they are followed.
Doesn't really seem to make sense at first. The US Department Of Transportation isn't going to show up as a reply guy in your mentions and the spooks aren't going to use that account to spy on your posts.
Is the blocking then entirely performative? Because blocks are public they are votes?
I guess really it's people deliberately reading the recommended-for-you AI-driven slop feeds.
Blocked users won't show up in your machine-learning robot-recommended feeds that people apparently must be reading over there.
Just not-following would be enough for me, I don't see things I don't follow. But if you read the robot-DJ feeds then anything can show up, so you have to preemptively block it. If only to train the robot shuffle.

Kneecap, a music artist with a global following, is being unjustly denied entry into Canada solely based on their political stance supporting the 'Free Palestine' movement.
Kneecap has no record of criminal activity in any country. Preventing their entry appears to be a punitive measure stemming from their vocal opposition to policies regarded by many as oppressive and unjust.

Spin Hall effect in the high-resistivity high-entropy alloy AlCrMoW
We study thin films of the high-entropy alloy system Al$_{x}$(CrMoW)$_{1-x}$, grown on Ta seed layers by magnetron co-sputtering. Between $x=0.2$ and $x=0.6$, a resistivity larger than 100$μΩ$cm is achieved, with a peak of 180$μΩ$cm at $x=0.5$. Around the stoichiometric composition AlCrMoW, the alloy forms a bcc solid solution. The harmonic Hall method was used to characterize the spin Hall angle of the alloy series, where a maximum spin Hall angle of $θ= -0.12 \pm 0.01$ is observed for $x…
