Top Spin
Weak, I know, but I've given up on little monsters for a bit. Too frustrating. Instead, Kieron's been persuading me to play Top Spin a little more. I got it ages and ages ago (when Woolies was doing it for £13 instead of the then-RRP of £40) and thought it was OK, but not as good as Virtua Tennis.

Pokémon LeafGreen and In Memoriam
I don't have that much money left in Pokémon LeafGreen, but I do now have 98 pokémon. Still haven't beaten the Elite Four, but I've not actually tried - I've been travelling around trying to level up my Raichu, and wondering where I can get another moonstone from to evolve Clefairy. A game that I've got back into is In Memoriam, on the PC.

Dream MCU wishlist item 732: Simple, high-speed serial protocol for fast memory mapped point-to-point IO.
Basically "PCIe lite". 8b/10b coded ~1 Gbps full duplex LVDS with packetized memory read/write requests bridged directly to AHB on the MCU side.
But no PnP enumeration, no device addressing, no request reordering, none of the other complexity of full PCIe. Something you can hang off a Cortex-M7 and use for interfacing to a lower end FPGA faster than QSPI.

Populous the Beginning
Every time I play this, I realise that no matter what else is taking my fancy, Populous: the Beginning is the best game ever. It's got the perfect mixture of strategy, action, intelligence, shine and gameplay. With other games, I've occasionally sat down to play and then realised I couldn't be bothered. That's never been the case with Populous: the Beginning.

Populous the Beginning: total massacre
I killed the greenies, at last. It was a long hard battle, but I won by manoeuvering all my fighters to the green shamen worship site, and killing her as soon as she reappeared, over and over again. Eventually she died for good, but her and her warriors had severely reduced my fighting capacity. According to the markers, there were battles going on between the red and yellow armies.

Has anyone tried doing Czochralski-esque crystallization of rock candy from solution?
The vision I have is a single seed crystal of your orientation of choice, attached to a string or stick, being slowly rotated above a dish of saturated sucrose solution and lifted out as the crystal grows. Maybe with some seals or apertures to control humidity and this rate of evaporation to keep the solution from becoming too supersaturated (and spawning more crystals on dust specks etc).

Populous the Beginning: unexplored territory
I have now progressed further than ever before. Bloodlust has been conquered. Back in 2005, I wrote of my troubles.  I started optimistic, settled for a war of attrition, then got a bit gung-ho and lost it all.  I tried many times to complete that level, and never managed it.  I did this time, though - on the fourth attempt.

I'm a huge 7SECONDS fan, especially the stuff they've done since 1999. I play their 1999 one and also their 2005 and 2014 ones a LOT. Their most recent one in 2014 was 'Leave a Light On' (below) and it's of course a damn masterpiece. It's been 10 years, it would be so cool to get another one from these guys.

Sprung
It's a "dating game". In fact, it's a "choose the correct response from this limited list and we'll let you progress" game. It's dull and poorly thought out and overly random. The thing is, though, you get the idea it's going to be quite short, so it's worth just trying each choice until you get the right one in the knowledge it's one step closer to the end of the game. I want to complete it, even if it is really quite crap.
