Since we had temperatures of -15/-13℃ (5℉) the past few nights, I was planning to go on an early morning shoot of one of my favorite waterfalls, but decided against it due to severe black ice warnings and likely ensuing road chaos today... Hope there will be more cold nights this winter...
So instead, some close-up detail shots of ice structures at the same waterfall from exactly 364 morning ago. Enjoy!

60 years ago tonight, the velvet underground at summit high school in new jersey, opening for the myddle class, both acts' 1st proper shows. sometimes called the VU's debut, rob norris’s classic scene report, “i was a velveteen” (from kicks #1) mentions they’d just been fired from cafe wha?, so maybe there was one earlier, too? some great local coverage, too!

100 of the ~280 linden trees of #Mäkelänkatu in #Helsinki have been cut. Some of the last trunks are being removed right now.
Judging from the growth rings, some of these trees were about 50 years old and had their best days a few decades ago, but also some good summers recently. Trees rarely…

#OTD 2014 vanuit het net nieuwe TivoliVredenburg, #Utrecht. Ter vergelijking ongeveer zelfde uitzicht in september 2025. Dit ziet er over een jaar weer heel anders uit, nu het Smakkelaarsveld bebouwd wordt.

Weer een klein rondje op de trike. Ik heb wel het idee dat ik steeds meer spullen meefiets. Mijn helm is inmiddels een vast attribuut, al is omvallen niet direct een risico. Het risico op aanrijdingen is m.i. ook minder, ik ben goed zichtbaar, vlaggetje, licht, en inhalend verkeer, auto's èn fatbikes houden meer afstand. Vandaag ook een muts onder de helm, want die ventileert te goed met deze temperatuur. En de volgende keer ook een gele overzetzonnebril tegen de laagstaande zon.

Good news 🙂: I made it to Madison Park (Seattle) to dine at Sushi Suzuki, a small, hidden Japanese restaurant.
Bad news 😡: I accidentally got here 1 hour early so I'm sitting outside in 46F. At least they have a fire pit?

Foodies forgive us, though we know exactly what we do. We had so much garlic from the garden this year that now absolutely has to be late planted, eaten or stored that we have resorted to Jarlic. 🌱 #gardening #oklahoma

60 years ago tonight, the #GratefulDead (& bill graham's) 1st fillmore auditorium gig, at the #sanfrancisco mime troupe’s appeal II, maybe the 1st actual time the dead name was used. not in ads (“formerly the warlocks” was january), no tape.
