- The number of farms over 3,500 acres has nearly doubled in 20 years.
- 41.3% of Canadian farmland is rented.
- From 1971 to 2021, the farm population declined by 62.2%, from 1 in 14 Canadians to 1 in 61.
- Farm debt has more than doubled in the last 20 years, from $43B in 2002 to $138.8B in 2022. That is currently 10x the size of net farm income.
- In 2021, 96,043 tonnes of pesticides were sold for agricultural use – more than three times the amount sold in 1991.

We review several models for pandemics that plagued the USA and the world in the past decade. Methods of data fitting are reviewed and several types of microscopic and rate equation models are discussed and numerically solved. Carney has announced LNG Canada will be expanded to its full potential. It will produce as much GHG emissions as 75% of the entirety of the province of British Columbia does right now. Yes, that's right. BC produced 61 million tons of GHGs in 2021, LNG Canada will produce 46 million tons at full power.
I am glad communities and health professionals are demanding a full inventory of the health impacts of this infrastructure. I hope that will also include the directly attributed heating from this plant to the increase in likelihood for wildfires, heat waves, and all the rest with all those health impacts across BC and the globe.
This is a gigantic project. Canada is a gigantic Climate Problem.

There is a little known reporting tool on the ##StatsCan website called Canada’s Quality of Life Hub. First proposed in 2021, and launched in 2023, it is a framework that gathers data and evidence to inform priority setting and guide decision-making in various policy areas, including the budgetary process. The Framework comprises five domains –prosperity, health, environment, society, and good governance – and two cross-cutting lenses: fairness and inclusion, and sustainability and resilience. Not enough Canadians have heard of it, and I suspect very few government policies are implemented before analyzing the impact on quality of life measurement by this tool. On a positive note, #StatsCan is looking for feedback on how to improve the hub.
