I am sad to be one of the Canadians who’ve chosen to avoid discretionary travel to the US, under the current government, that they’re talking about in this video.

Oh wow. It looks like I last used HaikuOS for real in 2023 judging by screenshots, but holy moly, it's come a long way since. Typing this from my LibreWolf with extensions running and everything. There are minor issues with some of these Wayland/GTK ports, but they are absolutely usable. And lots of software has shown up in HaikuDepot since last time. I just wish sound was working on my hardware so this could be a fully viable desktop for me.

Great comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS): dust loss before perihelion
In this study, the dust loss of comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) is investigated through the analysis of archival images. By measuring the surface brightness profile of the coma, we determined that the comet maintained nearly in a steady state during the observations. Analysis of the dust distribution perpendicular to the orbital plane reveals that the ejection velocity is $v_{\perp}\sim(65\pm5)\,β^{1/2}$ m s$^{-1}$, where $β$ is inversely proportional to the size of the dust grains.
