On 2024 December 28, CHIME/FRB detected the thus-far non-repeating FRB 20241228A with a real-time signal-to-noise ratio of $>50$. Approximately 112~s later, the X-ray Telescope onboard the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory was on source, the fastest follow-up to-date of a non-repeating FRB (Tohuvavohu et al. in prep.). In 2024 kwamen 316 duizend immigranten naar Nederland. Dat waren er 19 duizend minder dan het jaar ervoor. Zowel de immigratie uit EU-landen als uit overige landen was lager dan in 2023, het aantal immigranten met de Nederlandse nationaliteit bleef gelijk. Vooral het aantal kennismigranten dat van buiten de EU naar Nederland kwam daalde. Dat meldt het CBS op basis van recente cijfers.

The 2024 data shows a similar picture of middle-class origin dominance of publishing. Although there are year-on-year variations, since 2019 there has consistently been more than 60% proportions of middle-class origin people in publishing occupations. In the same period, working-class origin proportions have never been above 20%.

Mixed phases in a Fermi--Hubbard model describing altermagnetism
We study an extension of the 2D Fermi--Hubbard model, which was recently introduced in [Das et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 132, 263402 (2024)] and shown to describe altermagnetism that can be studied in cold atom systems. Using an updated Hartree--Fock method that can detect instabilities towards phase separation, we show that the model is in a mixed phase in large parts of the parameter regime at half-filling.
