A small plastic greenhouse from Aldi sits on my back patio, partially covering a window. Next to it is my chimney. A great deal of English ivy has overstepped its bounds and is growing up the brick chimney, into the Comcast demarc mounted there, around and underneath the greenhouse, and is beginning to climb the bricks under the window.
A small plastic greenhouse from Aldi sits a foot out from my chimney. The mass of English ivy from the previous photo is gone, ripped out and transplanted to a better place in the yard. The window formerly blocked by the greenhouse is unobstructed. Everything looks tidier than before.

This is just me venting.
I hate that if I want to lug a slightly smaller screen than my Surface Go to gaming, the iPad Mini behaves more like a tiny phone than my actual phone. With no way to tell DnD Beyond that there is plenty of real estate and to please use it.
I blame Apple / Safari here.

A Surface Go 3 with an 11½ inch diagonal screen, an iPad Mini 6 with its 9 inch diagonal screen, and a Pixel 6 with its 6¾ inch screen, all against on another to show the very different total surface area.
My D & D Beyond character sheet, with all attributes saves, skills, and most actions and weapons visible without scrolling, despite the fixed nav bar; the image is labeled Surface Go 3.

phpc.social is now running on Mastodon 4.6.2, released ~7 hours ago. We're a bit over a week late upgrading to 4.6; sorry about that.
We're also now on a locally-compiled build of ffmpeg 8.1.2 to mitigate CVEs there. Video uploads should be back to working going forward.
In case anyone else needs to bo this and you're copying from the Mastodon Dockerfile, make sure you symlink to both ffmpeg and ffprobe from /usr/local/bin, otherwise the server won't pick it up.…

Vor ca. 20 Jahren habe ich Windows XP den Rücken gekehrt, weil mir die ständigen Neuinstallationen auf die Nerven gingen. Kaum bastelte man ein wenig herum, brach alles irreparabel zusammen.
Damals war Ubuntu der heiße Scheiß! IIRC fing ich mit 6.06 (ja, zwei Monate zu spät) oder 6.10 an. Das Wiki von ubuntuusers.de war eine der besten deutschsprachigen Anlaufstellen für viele Fragen.
Rückblickend fiel mir der Umstieg wohl auch deswegen so leicht, weil ich unter Windows eh haupts…

Google Maps in Germany now publishes how many reviews of restaurants etc were removed due to “defamation”, i.e. legal action from the owners of the criticized businesses. There’s now a Chrome extension that adds 0 ratings for every removed rating and then averages that with the provided rating.
