Newspapers are being “disgusted” by the olympics kits using a modified Union Flag design, using pink/purple shades.
But, in a twist, there are no official (or at least public) specifications for the flag as national flag, and no exact specification of colours. Apparently there is an “Order in Council” (specifying colours as “azure", “argent", “gules”) but it's not on legislation.gov.uk.
(A "Union Flag Bill” proposed in 2008 would have specified the flag.)
