A/I was possible to target because it's big. It's an easy target. Big centralized organizations are easy to target. What's much harder to target are small organizations.
The federal government has managed to take down hundreds of local antifascist groups, police accountability blogs, and small community projects. They were able to do that because they could pick one big target and knock it out.
It was also *foreign*. The FTO list only works *outside the US*. There's no legal mechanism right now to target US nationals operating in the US with similar sanctions. They had a tool, and they used it.
You have to make them work for it. There are only so many agents available for this work, and only so much time. If they had to take out 10 or 100 US hosting collectives instead of one Italian one, this would not have happened.
But there is an economy of scale working here....
