TIL why I can't access release files from open-source projects on GitHub anymore.
It seems that the IP for release-assets.githubusercontent.com got added to ipthreat.net list:
ipthreat.net/ip/185.199.111.133
Malware is actually being distributed via GitHub, but the majorit…

Ah, a free update on the state of the legacy IP address market, from a spammer:
Subject: Spanish IPs ranges available
We currently have a very competitive offer on IP sales, with the following prices:
• €27/IP for ranges from /24 to /22
• €26/IP for ranges of /21 and larger

STM32MP2 PCIe bringup update: the PCIe IP has 4 MB of address space allocated to it, but touching anything past the first 2 MB seems to hang.
When I dump any of the register blocks in the first 2 MB, they all report the same Synopsys : 0550 device ID.
All of the registers are the same in each of the mirrors, with the exception of 8 bytes starting at 0x174 and 4 bytes starting at 0x728.
Somehow there has to be a way to see devices behind the root complex.

More legacy edu space likely to be used for hosting.
Not immediately obvious who or what steel-axis is to me, and who they represent. They have a virtual business address in Delaware, a gmail email, and a RIR database contact address in Israel. RIPE-based LIR that has gotten a number of transfers over the years, usually ending up being used by India-based HostRoyale.

I thought Arthur Andersen folded after #Enron? Wonder why they still have a /16, among which is a server impersonating a bunch of #Amazon hosts...

#PrettyFlyForAWiFi

The image is a meme in a two-by-two grid format. The top-left and bottom-left quadrants contain text, while the top-right and bottom-right quadrants display a picture of actor Matt LeBlanc, portraying his character Joey Tribbiani from the sitcom "Friends".

The text in the top-left reads: "The hotel's free WiFi is really fast". In the bottom-left quadrant, the text states: "Your IP address starts with 172.16.42.x". The text is in a sans-serif font, with the words "free WiFi" and "IP address" hi…

@… I'm curious to hear people's thoughts on securing publicly available software running at home.
I'm thinking about running my mastodon instance at home instead of DigitalOcean, but that means publicly advertising my home IP address on the web. Putting that behind a VPN or similar isn't an option because other servers have to reach mine r…

TL;DR
Document your network!!!! And if not, keep your actions in the right order to not waste a lot of time.

Last week I wanted to check something on my network switch and tried to open the web interface at the IP address I remembered. Unable to connect.
I was short of time as always so I put this back on my 'to-do' list.
Yesterday I had 25mins to spare... So I took a look at the internet router which maintains a list of all active network devices. Na…

Do I know any C programmers?
I’m fiddling with a 20yo *trivial* C program and my editor(!) is warning me about the twisted casts in the first line of this:
if ((int)(addr = (void *)inet_addr(argv[1])) == -1) {
errnum=errno;
strerror(errnum);
perror("ERRNO");
(void) printf("IP address must be of the form a.b.c.d\n");
exit (2);
}
I can no longer understand what I was thinking. Can anyo…
