My TrueNAS server is reporting one of the disks I got just two months ago with "CRITICAL: 10 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors" which seems bad...
It's a WD disk and there should be a two year warranty on it, so I may need to look into replacing it.
Self hosting really is Tamagotchi for Nerds.

Self Hosting is not the answer.
"I realized how privileged I am to have the skills required for digital sovereignty. I realized how unattainable, unsustainable, and unrealistic self-hosting is as a mass solution to the problems we face. I realized that self-reliance isn't freedom — it's the luxury of retreating from a system that others can't escape."

There's a point here, but it's really narrower than it looks.
Many individuals can self-host to a level that meets their needs. Not everyone needs anti-DDoS on their web server. Not everyone needs 10GB of space for email accessible from any device anywhere. Almost no one needs a global anycast DNS network.

4. Similar to number 1, but I just want a button in the web UI which can update the app. It's probably a security thing or something, but this is literally the first time I do all this docker RPi self-hosting stuff... 😭 I think a huge chunk of my issues would go away if I could just manage everything (updates, song additions, auto file tagging) in the Navidrome web UI instead of all of these other apps.

I'm really torn. I love me my @…, great people, great model, love to support and use.
Buuuuut, I'd also love to use my own domain so I can truly own my own social. However I’m concerned about a single user instance not seeing all my current interactions.
Any advice from you self-hosters? I'm trying out

Might be a shot in the dark, but is there anyone out there self-hosting Navidrome on a Raspberry Pi (or other device), and powering it using solar power?

For Self-Hosting:
Deploy with vLLM
python -m vllm.entrypoints.openai.api_server
--model moonshotai/Kimi-K2-Instruct
--dtype fp8-e4m3

3. Multiple Access Methods 🌐
• Cloud API: platform.moonshot.ai (OpenAI/Anthropic compatible) • Self-hosting: Deploy on your own infrastructure • Inference engines: vLLM, SGLang, KTransformers, TensorRT-LLM supported
