The election, and after
The first thing to say about the 2024 General Election result is this: Labour lost, and lost badly. They lost, in fact, half a million votes compared to their 2019 result; they lost three million votes when compared to their 2017 result. They also failed to win anything remotely resembling a majority of the popular vote.

I didn't forget about a weigh in commitment, or avoiding sharing the gory details. We discovered that our 30 year old bathroom scale didn't survive our house move. One corner was badly dented and compressed so we had to replace it.
Below is my first weigh in on a fancy digital scale, from 9am this morning. I wore socks to spare you sensitive types my poorly manicured feet. I'll likely only do this once a month so no need to block me yet.
