They asked me if I had another ID like a passport. When I said no, they sent me to some guy who did a chemical wipe test of my phone, before letting me continue.
I think the rationale is that any incremental improvement to security checks increases the difficulty for malicious actors, but it still feels like Maxwell Smart security
